Mass Flow Feeder [MFF]
Used in conjunction
with a prefeeder capable of being controlled (feed
gate, feed screw, star feeder etc) the Mass Flow
Meter turns into a Mass Flow Feeder- a
dosing system. Calibration is done using actual
material.
 For
simplified rechecks a test weight is used.
The selection of the
prefeeder depends on the application & is
determined by sundry criteria for instance
existing handling systems, material
characteristics, desired feed rate, environmental
conditions. For requirement of high accuracy or
uninterrupted material flow load cells mounted
test bins may be used for checks.
Flow meter measurement is compared to the weigh bin
measurement and the flow meter calibration may be
corrected either manually or by an automatic
system. For regular checks, check weigh bins which
are nothing but automatic checks-and-correct
systems are available which improve efficiency to
within 1%.
